Flooring Installation Solutions: Our Mission Statement

In 2015, after nearly two decades in the manufacturing and distribution of flooring products, Thomas Agrachov, cofounder and COO, set out to create Ironbound Surfaces LLC (IBS) to address a long-standing issue between developers, distributors, and installation professionals in the flooring industry. 

Conflicts often arise on projects between installation professionals and the quality of flooring products purchased by owners, developers, and general contractors. Problems typically surface once flooring has been installed and a failure occurs, leading to blame being placed. Flooring installers often attribute these failures to faulty products, while manufacturers and trained flooring inspectors contend that the majority of failures stem from improper preparation of the sub-strate and/or failure to follow the manufacturers' installation guidelines. Additional issues occur when installers, against their better judgment, try to satisfy the customer by deviating from these guidelines, which also leads to failures. Furthermore, flooring is sometimes not adequately protected and maintained after installation, compounding the problem. 

At IBS, we take pride in our thorough understanding of the flooring products we install, ensuring that the building sub-strate is properly prepared to accept the flooring. 

To guarantee successful installation, our project managers are trained to oversee a job from start to finish without shortcuts. All our preparation, leveling, and installation professionals undergo rigorous training in our methods from apprenticeship onward. Our project managers are promoted from within the organization, ensuring their skills and knowledge are refined so they can effectively oversee that each professional under their guidance follows the correct methods specified for the project.
